Kindle Reader – Can It Fight Off Its Competitiors?

November 7, 2009 on 2:30 am | By admin | In Technology | Comments Off

Okay, the latest “Kindle Killer” is here (it;s a compliment to AMazon that every new e-book reader which shows any potential is instantly given this label – the Kindle is the standard by which all e-book readers are currently measured). It’s from Barnes and Noble and is called the Nook. It has several apparent advantages when compared with the kindle reader - it uses the ePub format and it allows you to “lend” e-books to your friends for example. One other big advantage it will enjoy, which could be telling, is the simple fact that anyone visiting a Barnes and Noble store will be able to see a demonstration Nook in action. For a fairly pricey device such as an e-book reader, that could actually make a big difference to sales levels.
