NHS Cash Incentives to Lose Belly Fat
July 21, 2009 on 4:46 am | By admin | In News | 37 CommentsIn the UK the NHS is giving some people the incentive to lose Belly fat by offering overweight people up to £500 to lose weight. The National Health Service is sagging under the weight of the burden of treating obesity-related diseases. They view offering incentives as a good alternative to having to spend money to treat obese patients. Under the scheme once overweight people have proven they have beaten the bulge the money is handed out. The question is, should the NHS be paying people to take care of their own health? Is not the onus on every individual to look after their own bodies? On the other hand, is it better to give people a reward to lose weight, rather than spending much more on having to treat the problem of obesity using up valuable hospital resources?
