They were a lot less expensive that petrol powered mowers and also a great deal easier to maintain. I did not have a very big lawn, actually it was only about 45 feet long and 6 feet deep. The section by the sidewalk was even smaller and was only about 24 inches deep. My 75 foot extension cord was perfect for plugging into the outlet on the front porch and I could reach every corner of my lawn. There was no gas or oil smell and the mower stored up against the wall in my little garage.
