For every parent the issue of protecting the children online is becoming more and more important and as well as your basics such as keeping an eye on the child, making sure the computer is where you can see it and setting clear rules for Internet use, parents are now turning to software solutions to help block and monitor content one of the more popular solutions to this issue is Net Nanny. This software claims to be far more effective than free content filters as it actually reads the content of each site rather than just checking the site against a list. Saving electricity in heaters

December 9, 2008 on 7:27 am | By admin | In Technology

The water heaters that we have are sometimes left un-insulated. This makes them one of the biggest guzzlers of electricity.  We need to be very careful in our use of hot water system since lack of insulation in this can lead to large bills. We need to check if the pipes and tanks that carry the hot water are insulated properly. A well insulated hot water tank can save 75% more electricity. We need to make sure that no faucet drips hot water. Each of these represents nothing but costs. Thus saving up in these appliances can be a key to reduce electricity bills.

Low Cost Hosting Accounts Are Right Here

December 9, 2008 on 5:14 am | By admin | In Technology

Us fellow affiliate marketers must have several things. 1 is usually a website of some type, another is a product to sell, and last is some inexpensive hosting It’s easy really but often overlooked by most. I use emaxhosting, as they offer loads of plans to suit most budgets, and their uptime, is phenomenal (something a lot of people overlook). But the simple truth is, if a spider is crawling your site (or about to), and your host platform is down, you will miss out on the indexing and potential rankings improvement. The same goes for PPC, if you are sending a ton of traffic to a web-site and that site goes down, you can still incur charges, for a time anyway.

Only a tiny fraction of people who are blind have access to the web.

Access technology such as screen reading software and screen magnifiers enable blind people to use computer applications. A screen reader is a software application that attempts to identify and interpret what is being displayed on the screen. Approximately 18 percent of those deemed legally blind, by any measure, have no vision. A persons choice of Microsoft Narrator is dictated by many factors, including platform and the role of organizations like charities, schools, and employers.

Supplementing on this, this August Anthony Loeff medical volunteer is reporting about Windows Narrator for Oralux is making the web a more inviting place for visually impaired people.

Almost all versions of Windows Vista include a screen magnifier for people suffering from blindness, and some simple screen readers.

A piece of screen reading software choice is contentious for visually impaired surfers and strong preferences are common. These days Mac OS 8 includes Speakup, a more feature-rich digital screen reader. Linux distributions for the visually impaired include Yasr. Recent versions of Microsoft Windows XP Pro come with the rather basic NonVisual. Apple OS 8 also comes with a built-in a piece of software for screen reading, called VoiceOver. Digital screen readers are a form of assistive technology potentially useful to blind people, often in combination with screen magnifiers. Near legally people suffering from blindness 78 percent do not use computers. More and more the software for screen reading are being bundled with operating system distributions.

Share Console

December 3, 2008 on 7:16 pm | By admin | In Technology

The field cleared.  The Germans who escaped grouped at the ends of the Roman line.  Now the centurions began calling out orders, and it looked as if the Roman heavy infantry would strike.  Everywhere the Celtic commanders were scurrying, trying to restore order to the crowds of howling warriors who had tasted blood.    “Caledonians!” Bronix shouted.  He was standing in front of the milling warriors with his hands cupped to project his voice.  “The battle has hardly begun.  Get back into position.  Listen to your commanders.” The tribesmen were finding it hard to listen to anyone.  Share Console clanged their swords on their shields and leapt into the air.

Sharing Access

Because they feared the wrath of Sharing Access.  Never had their legions encountered such fierce resistance anywhere in their Empire.  The Celtic tribes of Caledonia, he said, would never crawl like dogs at the feet of Roman masters.  Caledonia was free and always would be.  The Romans, he said, were mindless servants of order and conformity.  Everywhere they went the old ways died.  They all marched the same way, passsed the same way; they all lived in the same barren cities filled with cubed buildings and archways of stone. Often Neeve had heard her father comment on the lowland communities.

Microsoft’s Stock Price Has Dropped

November 30, 2008 on 9:29 am | By admin | In Technology

I know that Microsoft has had a tough year.  The stock price has been hurt and the company is getting a lot of criticism.  The biggest challenge for Microsoft is to come up with new products in order to diversify it’s offerings.  They can’t grow much more without branching outside of software.  They did a really good job of launching the xbox and offering xbox 360 downloads – I know this has been profitable for them.  However, they will need to look even further if they want to keep investors happy.  Can’t say that I have any advice for them, but hey, I’m not the CEO!
