It’s Always the Season!
November 1, 2009 on 4:59 am | By admin | In SportsFor me, even though I live in the Midwest, it is always the “season” for golf–I play it all year long albeit not as much in the winter. However, I do take trips and vacations where this activity is certainly involved. Most people who know me know that they can never “go wrong” with golf gifts for me. Despite the amount of equipment and memorabilia that i have, there is always room for more of this for me! I already am thinking about spring and when the local courses will reopen again. Some people get frustrated by this game—I get intoxicated by it.

Flag Football; As Much Fun as Contact Ball
October 9, 2009 on 11:55 pm | By admin | In SportsA winning flag football team is filled with folks who are talented, athletically inclined and have a drive – am desire – to win. That pretty much describes a contact football team, too. There are differences, though. Flag football has fewer players on the field, requiresshorter periods and eliminates the hard, bone-crushing tackles that makes contact football such a harsh sport. But it still takes talent to move the ball and make the score. Flag football plays demand the same agility as contact football. However, when the ball carrier gets “caught”, he doesn’t get smashed, mashed, and buried under hundreds of pounds of the opposing team.
I Am Now Concentrating On Muscle Building
September 27, 2009 on 11:36 pm | By admin | In SportsI have always concentrated my fitness efforts on the aerobic sort of exercises like bicycling and walking or swimming. I have never really been much for the resistance work but lately I am seeing the benefits it can provide and the sorts of changes that can happen from that kind of regimen. I think now it would be wise for me to begin my efforts focused more toward muscle building as well. I can see it is a great way to build metabolically active tissue and to get my calorie burning capacity raised to a higher level. I will chart my progress.
Looking into Pants to Snowboard In
September 9, 2009 on 2:40 am | By admin | In SportsI have been a skier for almost as long as I can remember. I really enjoy it but lately I have been thinking about branching out and trying snowboarding. I have been watching other people do it and it looks like it would be a lot of fun and not much different from what I do now. I am looking into what I will need though, such as snowboard pants, a jacket, etc. It looks like snowboarding gear is a little bit different than skiing gear. I would like to get something that is warm, comfortable but also affordable if possible.
Mountain climbing
September 9, 2009 on 2:29 am | By admin | In SportsMountain climbing is my favorite extreme sport. There is nothing quite like the rush a person gets from clinging to the side of a cliff face high above the rest of the world. When preparing for a climb, the proper equipment is essential. In addition to the obvious necessities like proper climbing rope and anchors, a climber needs to keep proper hydration and nutrition in mind. A dedicated climber will never be without a stainless steel water bottle and assorted snacks that can be eaten for a quick boost of energy. When one is properly outfitted, nothing beats a climb.Mountain climbing is my favorite extreme sport….
Just How Do You Run Faster?
September 8, 2009 on 2:13 am | By admin | In SportsWhen I was in school I would despise going to PE! I was never the one picked first or even second. Most of the time I was the last one to be picked. All because I did not run fast enough. Where was I supposed to learn how to run faster? I tried everything from practicing to using weights to strengthen my legs. Gradually it did help, but I still to this day just can not run as fast as I would like to. I wonder if there is anything online I can look at that can teach me how to run faster?
An Awkwardly Effective Exercise
August 21, 2009 on 9:47 am | By admin | In SportsThe Slalom Jump is a commonly known plyometric training exercise. Well, here is a new way to do the slalom jump where the motions may feel awkward for you at first. Instead of jumping directly side to side, you can jump as far as you can in a diagonal motion. This may feel weird because you have never done it before and it can be hard for your leg muscles to perform, but it is worth it. You will work your legs in a way that you have never done before. Once you have done enough repetitions going diagonally one way, switch it up and go the other way.
Jane, Oh Jane
August 19, 2009 on 8:15 am | By admin | In SportsSometimes I just cannot agree with what Jane thinks. For her, anything will be done best if it is done with the aid of the finest things, for instant, she seriously believes that by holding the best tennis racket her skills will boost and she will perform better in the game. It is alright to think like that, and to some point that is true. Good quality rackets will improve the strength and precision of your shots. What I do not agree is the way she holds too strong to that belief, and sometimes that just freaks us all out.
Some Good Starter Fishing Tips
August 15, 2009 on 4:14 am | By admin | In SportsNo matter who you are; if you’re tall, short, fat, skinny, funny, funny lucking, smart or an outright dummy, most folks like to go fishing. And good fishing tips will help you to have more success when you are out there on the water. Let me just give you a couple of good fishing tips to get you started.
First, always take enough gear. Two to three fishing poles is a good start. That way you can have a couple of different baits ready to go should you happen on a school of fish.
Second, make sure to have adequate clothing. Don’t want a rain storm sneaking up on you, do you?
Third, have some spare emergency items. A can of gas, some flares and a first aid kit all come in handy.
