Medical Organizations and the Need for Medical Translation

One important facet of the materialization of the medical field into the field of science that it is today has been the existence of professional medical organizations.  Not only have medical organizations helped advance new treatments, they also worked to promote and protect the interests of its professional medical worker members.  One such medical association, the American Medical Association or AMA, was founded in 1847.  However, since that time the organization has lost much of its prominence.  Some industry professionals have attributed it loss of importance to ignoring key trends like Medical Translation.  As a result, other organizations like the World Medical Association and specialty organizations have grown much more quickly and have eroded a good portion of the AMA’s membership share.
