The web has helped a lot of coaches create programs or write books that can be sold on their websites. The level of competition does help the aspiring singer because we now have lots of options to learn singing. Back in the old days I used to go get vocal lessons from a coach near me, but I had no other opportunities to learn singing elsewhere. In this sense, technology has helped aspiring musicians like me. You can always start off with a book too, but it’s not as visually stimulating as a course online.
